If you want to go out on a high playing at Twickenham for the 5th time in 7 years is not bad. Paul Walsh and Ian Smith, what a team that have taken the players and teams from Leicestershire to a new high.
Playing at Oakham Rugby ground on a large open pitch, with a few showers and good ground, the game opened with the tone set as fast. As the 3rd minute came, with a strong pack that dominated, we snuffed out the opportunity Durham had of utilising their no8, who had more defending to do than rampaging the opposition.
The large pitch enabled Leicestershire to run the rhythms, and when close to the line the pack really did very well in the scum with 2 penalty tries.
The opposition in the second half rallied a bit but Leicestershire can be very proud and with 11 new players selected for this seasons squad can only look good for the next few days as we try to build on the great work is fantastic coaching team have constructed.
I would also like to thanks Smashie and Holf for their support and the Management team and kit by The Chaperon Family.
Final score 55-14
