After passing on some club user’s comments on GMS last season I met with the new RFU IT Director, Jon Conn and was subsequently invited to join the Area 4 GMS Users’ Group.
I share below a quick note regarding the GMS Login process via ER.com that has come to me via that group:
‘As you are all aware, the current process for logging into GMS via ER.com has caused confusion for some of our users. In fact, we had 250 calls in August to the GMS helpdesk related to this ‘Login Process.
We are looking to introduce a more streamlined approach for end users that will see clearer signposting. In addition, future planned changes will support the updated terms and conditions for system use that we will present to all users upon logging in- in due course.
However, as a short-term step to reduce helpdesk traffic and allow a more straightforward user flow, we will be directing users straight to the ‘GMS Login page’ from ER.com when the ‘Login to GMS’ button is selected on the GMS Hub.’
Updated flow is as follows:
- User visits englandrugby.com
- User selects ‘Login to GMS’ as per below:
- User will now be taken to https://gms.rfu.com/GMS/Account/Login
- User can login using their same credentials as usual (what they have previously entered into ER.com)
This simple change will hopefully see a cleaner user journey for our administrators.
If you continue to experience any difficulties with GMS, please email me detailing the issues, in order that I may take those up with the User Group on your behalf.
Regards,
Peter Howard
