Social media activity guidance

It goes without saying that during this unusual time we find ourselves living in, that social media has provided us all with not only a means of keeping in contact with friends and family, but also keeping up to date with news, politics, events and club activity.

Social media can be both a tool for sharing positive and important information, but also one for keyboard warriors who may not consider what they are typing before hitting send.

Many organisations, including Leicestershire Rugby Union and England Rugby, commit to sharing information about the game that will benefit the community and grow the game. We know that a number of clubs do the same and we gladly help share that content where we can. We all want the game to be supported and shown in a good light to protect it for the future.

However, we find that we need to publish a timely reminder for clubs and members to keep their content in line with the core values  – Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship. Further information and guidance around social media can be found here

Please note also that comments on private groups are not necessarily private as screenshots can always be taken and shared publicly, so be mindful of what you feel is only being shared in your group as it may not be.

Stay safe everyone and keep the social media fun and friendly and show our support for all clubs out there at this time!
