Jul 2017

We are pleased to announce the appointment, as from the start of the 2017-18 season, of Mr Geraint Davies as the head coach of the Men’s senior side for a period of 3 years. Geraint will be keeping the continuity in the coaching team with the only changes being Paul Walsh and Ian Smith standing down, and maybe some other coaches introduced as deemed necessary. Simon Chaperon will continue to be manager of the team.

Mark Powell, Director of Rugby, comments

I wish to convey the gratitude and thanks from the county management team to the previous team, and look forward to this new regime continuing the great success we have had over the last few years.

Geraint is looking forward to following on from his early coaching days with the U20’s

It has been almost 10 years since I coached the Leicestershire U20’s and I am extremely proud to now get the opportunity to coach the Senior men’s team. This is a hugely exciting time for Leicestershire at all levels. I aim to build on the outstanding work done over the last 8 years by Paul Walsh and his team and wish him all the best with his future endeavours. Now I look forward to seeing all of the talent the county has to offer

We wish Geraint and his coaching and management team the very best of luck and that they continue with the successes of the last few years.
