Peter’s playing career comprised of playing for Wyggeston, Trent Poly, Notts Moderns and Nationwide Building Society before returning to Oadby Wyggs. Peter chaired the Wyggs for 9 years before joining LRU Discipline Panel for 10 years and going on to Chair for 5, as well as sitting on the RFU Panel. He was elected to the RFU Council in 2016, and also sits on RFU Governance Standing Committee, and Diversity & Inclusion working group.

John Brindley, President Elect

I played my first game when I was 13,  and played senior Welsh rugby until 1971 when I retired. I then came to Leicester and  joined Syston RFC where I played first team until 1980. I coached Syston Colts for 9 years and then played 2 more years in the vets. I then refereed for 9 years before joining Leicestershire Rugby Union as volunteer co-ordinator and club liaison officer. I stood down in 2010. I am currently Chairperson of Syston rugby club.

Kat McNamee, Treasurer

With over 30 years working in industry in positions such as Accounts Controller, Finance Manager, Operations and Sales Manager and Commercial Director I believe the wealth of experience this has afforded me allows me to confidently step into the role of Treasurer for the LRU.

I’m naturally curious so if I do not have the answers to something immediately I will tenaciously research to gather the information to encourage an all encompassing approach.

I look forward to assisting in adopting further robust processes to ensure we have comprehensive management reporting for the membership of the LRU.
