Eddie Gregory sadly passed away on 8th December after a long fight with cancer

Eddie was a county stalwart, a friend, and colleague to so many. His roles within his own club Market Harborough RUFC formerly Kibworth RFC, included player, Captain, Coach, Committee member and President amongst others. He also contributed significantly towards Leicestershire and Midlands playing from Colts into adult XV and then as a county selector, before becoming President in 2014/15.

Our thoughts go out to Eddie’s wife Debs, his family and friends. Eddie was probably one of the nicest gentlemen you could ever meet and his smile and stature lit up a room

John Allen passed away on 9th December

John made his debut for Leicester Tigers as a teenager in 1961 before becoming almost an ever-present at scrum-half over 16 seasons, totalling 457 appearances with Tigers – the third most in club history. John scored almost 300 points in his senior career, including 58 tries, for the club which he captained in 1970-71

He went on to become treasurer, secretary and director of LFC and in 1997, he was honoured with Life Membership and was a non-executive director for a decade between 1997–2007.

John continued to serve the Leicestershire Community game with his position on the Executive Committee at CB Treasurer and awarded Privileged Persons status following his services to county.

Our condolences go to John’s family, friends and rugby colleagues at this time.
