We have been asked by our colleagues in Croatia to offer an opportunity to help boost a club within this fledgling rugby nation.

Zargreb Rugby Club are seeking players and please see below thier advert forwarded to ourselves.

“Croatia is one of the most beautiful countries in Europe BUT not a lot of people know that yet…

Would you like to live in a very nice country AND be part of the development of a great club?

Zagreb Rugby Club is a small club based in Croatia. Our current team is very young and inexperienced, so we are looking for a few players for the next season, starting in September and ending in December. All in all, rugby in Croatia is not a very big sport and it is played on an amateur level.

We are looking for players who would like to travel and experience a new culture. Life in Croatia compared to EU is not expensive. What we can offer to the players is:

-Free accommodation
-job opportunity
-one meal a day.

We are considering all positions but are looking specially for props, 10/15s and centres.”

Armistice Day

Clubs across Leicestershire fell silent at 11am for two minutes to commemorate all fallen service personnel of the Great War, WW2 and conflicts thereafter.

At Market Harborough players aged 6-18 stood arm in arm with officials and coaches to pay their respects. This scene was replicated all over the county.

Funeral Date; 26-02-18

Time; 14.00

Venue; All Saints Church, Easton on the hill, (Limited Parking so arrive early)

Post service; Exeter Arms, Easton on the hill, (On the main Stamford to Corby road parking places available)

If anybody is going to be attending the ‘after burial’ event please confirm and the number attending to the following e-mail; Davies550@googlemail.com, so they are able to plan catering needs.

Mike Wilson

With great sadness we have received the news that Mike Wilson passed away peacefully yesterday. Mike had been in failing health in recent months .

Mike was a long standing stalwart of the Leicestershire Rugby Union having served as RFU council member, President, Chair and it would be fair to say that Mike had covered the majority of roles within the CB.
Our thoughts are with his family at this sad time
