Jun 2017

As you may or may not be aware there has been some significant changes to the coaching and refereeing courses which come into effect on 1st July so I would like to invite your club to an information evening on MONDAY 3RD JULY at Leicester Forest RFC 6.30-8.30pm – refreshments will be provided.

Darren Gourley RFU Area Training Manager and John Widdowson RFU Match Official Development Officer as well as myself and the RFU Community Rugby Coaches will all be on hand to answer any questions you may have and hopefully make sure you are fully prepared for the season ahead.

We will also hopefully have members of the Leicestershire Rugby Union and Referee’s Society there to talk about the local vision and development opportunities for coaches/referees/medics so it is really important that Club Coach Coordinators (CCCs), Club Referee Coordinators (CRefCs) and Medical Coordinators try and attend this evening – if none of these people are available then PLEASE try and send someone from the club who can relay the information back to you.

The topics that will be covered on the night will be (in no particular order):

  • The role of the CCC/CRefC/Medics
  • New coaching/refereeing awards
  • The coaching/refereeing development pathway
  • Role of referee society and training opportunities
  • New laws update
  • Young Match Official Programme
  • Course booking process
  • LRU vision for game development
  •  17/18 course calendar
  • Feedback from clubs
  • Update any new contact details

Please could you let me know who is attending from your club via email by FRIDAY 23RD JUNE.
